Project Overview
Our goal is to support Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homeland due to the war by providing them with the opportunity to continue doing what they love - dancing. The Ukrainian folk dance group Golubka was formed in Zurich more than a year ago and is now successfully presenting Ukrainian culture in Switzerland.

This summer, we were the first Ukrainian dance group to perform at the International Folk Dance Festival at Züri Fäscht. It is a great honor but also a great responsibility for us to represent Ukrainian culture. In the future, our dance group plans to participate in other dance events.
We have no sponsors and run this dance group on a voluntary basis, but we have to cover some costs. The main needs of our group are:
- additional costumes for our performances
- renting a dance studio during the week
- covering all expenses related to our performances (transportation, meals, accommodation, etc.)
- covering other organizational costs
We hope to continue our classes in the future and to establish a strong and professional Ukrainian folk dancing ensemble in Switzerland. For this we need your support.

Our dance group Golubka is organized by Bonum Association, a Swiss-based non-governmental organization that offers free courses, consultations and seminars for Ukrainian refugees to provide important information and enable successful integration into Swiss society.
Our choreographer, Elena Heydemann, has been leading the Ukrainian folk dance group “Golubka” in Zurich since October 2022. The dance course takes place every Sunday and is free for Ukrainians with status S. Elena herself has been dancing since childhood in her hometown of Lviv in the “Yunist” ensemble and in the “Galicina” folklore ensemble. For several years she was an assistant to several choreographers of the folk dance group of the Lviv Polytechnic University.
