Helpline listeners across Europe are available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, at any time of need for people in emotional distress. To improve their skills and service quality, they need knowledge and insights from experts. By supporting our campaign you will help provide enriching educational video contents full of valuable insights, accessible online in English, French, German, Italian to 20.000 volunteers in emotional support services.

Being listened to is like feeling at home...
In moments of crisis, difficulty, uncertainty, having someone who can provide understanding and emotional support is invaluable. It helps to "see" and put thoughts and feelings in order, so as to proceed in one's life with greater serenity and awareness. The volunteer listeners of European helplines are committed to offering a free and always accessible listening and emotional support service, via telephone or chat: to guarantee a good quality, however, updated knowledge and constant training is required.
You can effectively support the implementation of multilingual videos for the IFOTES online training channel to improve the skills of helpline volunteer listeners!

Who we are:

IFOTES is an international federation founded in 1967 that brings together National Associations of Telephone Emergency Services which offer emotional support, immediately accessible to any person suffering from loneliness, in a state of psychological crisis, or contemplating suicide.
