Project Overview

Swiss premiere of the documentary film Invisible Nation, followed by a panel discussion and aperitif. Your support enables to continue conducting awareness-raising events. Through the organization of various events and lectures on social topics, the cultural association Ananasli acts as a bridge between the German and Chinese-speaking communities. Taiwan in particular is at the center of attention due to the geopolitical situation.

Swiss premiere - Invisible Nation

"Invisible Nation" sheds light on Taiwan's current struggle to maintain its hard-won democracy and shows how Taiwanese identity and the desire for democracy have developed. With unprecedented access to Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan's first female president (2016-2024), director Vanessa Hope examines these developments.

Now we want to secure the Swiss premiere of the documentary and organize a panel discussion on the subject.

Who we are

The cultural association Ananasli organizes various events and lectures on social topics. The association acts as a bridge between German and Chinese-speaking communities. In particular, Taiwan is prominently highlighted due to the geopolitical situation.
Examples of previous events: Taiwan Festival with information and market stands (Geneva, Zurich), fairy tale concert and story workshop (Zurich, Zug), film evening (Bern, Basel, Geneva, Lugano, Zurich), summer camp for children (Zurich), photo exhibition (Immensee, Zurich).

This documentary film takes a deep look at the political developments in the Taiwan Strait over the past few years. It is important to us that the film is also seen in Switzerland and that a further access is experienced.

We would be happy to meet you in person at the Kino Rex on November 2nd.
