YOCADS is a youth serving Liberian non-for-profit and non-governmental organization that implements a project under the flagship “Kick For Your Future” in three slum communities of Monrovia, Liberia’s capital. It consists of the management team, volunteers and coaches.
I have been collaborating with YOCADS since 2013. Their work is amazing and has such a big impact not only for the participating youth but also giving perspectives to the communities they are part of. I am learning so much from the participants, volunteers, coaches, trainers and the management team. And I hope their work does not stop because of the strict regulations of big NGO's needing a "third party contribution". Therefore I am very motivated to support their Crwod Funding in order to "Kick for The Future"!
Nancy C. Broh Coleman is a full time member of the key staff. She is the Job Scout of the organization and therefore responsible for all the efforts and services linked to the apprenticeship-training. She assesses, validates and recommends training outlets, selects and placed the trainees and inquires on their development (e.g. through visits and testing). She designs and organizes several workshops for the trainees and linkes them with potential employers. She is also responsible for the follow-up of the ex-trainees.
Nancy encourages young people to take responsibility for themselves by committing for training. She supports her trainees with a good mixture of empathy and strictness, which leads mostly to success. With her open and friendly manner, she built up a large network and is instrumental in building and expanding the project KFYF
