Project Overview

In Chopelwo, a rural region in Uganda, people have limited access to medical care. A new clinic has already been built, but now we need your help to provide it with the necessary equipment and medical devices for effective outpatient care. Your support can improve access to healthcare for over 5000 people!

Funding goals

  1. Stage 1:

    2.000 CHF

    100% funded

With the first stage, we are financing the basic equipment of the clinic, including examination beds, cupboards and chairs. This furniture is necessary to set up the clinic for safe and organised patient care.

  2. Stage 2:

    5.000 CHF

    44% funded

The second stage involves the purchase of basic diagnostic equipment such as blood pressure monitors, stethoscopes and pulse oximeters as well as important laboratory equipment such as a microscope, an autoclave for sterilising medical instruments and a refrigerator for the safe storage of medicines and vaccines. This equipment enables the accurate diagnosis of diseases such as malaria, anaemia and infections and improves medical care on site.

  3. Finish Stage:

    6.500 CHF

    0% funded

In the third stage, we purchase the basic medicines required to get the clinic up and running. These medicines are necessary to ensure immediate and effective treatment of patients and to guarantee the clinic's operation right from the start.

The challenge:
There is a lack of basic medical infrastructure in the rural region of Chopelwo in Uganda. Most of the inhabitants, predominantly small farmers with low incomes, have to walk more than 5 kilometres to the nearest medical facility. This is an enormous challenge for pregnant women, children and the elderly, especially when immediate medical help is needed. Limited access to healthcare often leads to illnesses or injuries developing into serious health problems due to lack of treatment.

The solution:
A new clinic has been built in the village to close this gap in care. Now all that is missing is the equipment to start operations. Diagnostic technology, laboratory equipment and furniture are crucial to enable the clinic to treat hundreds of patients every year.
Our aim is to provide the new health centre with the necessary equipment to make it a fully functional facility. The clinic will provide all residents of Chopelwo and the surrounding region with access to affordable, timely and reliable medical care - without the long journey to a distant health facility.

Planned measures:

- Clinic equipment: the clinic will be equipped with modern diagnostic technology, laboratory equipment and medical consumables to ensure safe and rapid diagnosis and the necessary treatment.

- Daily health care: Common diseases such as malaria can be treated directly on site, and preventative healthcare such as immunisations and consultations are also provided.

- Long-term health promotion: Close cooperation with local health facilities ensures continuous medical care and improves the level of health in the region in the long term.

The clinic is due to open in the next few months and will sustainably improve the lives of over 5,000 people in Chopelwo and the surrounding villages.
Every contribution counts and helps to equip the clinic in Chopelwo and put it into operation. Here are some examples of how your support in CHF is being used:

- 10 CHF funds malaria rapid tests for one day.
- 50 CHF will enable the purchase of diagnostic equipment such as a blood pressure monitor, stethoscope or blood glucose meter.
- CHF 100 covers the cost of an autoclave, a device for sterilising medical instruments.
- CHF 500 enables the purchase of a medical refrigerator for the safe storage of medicines and vaccines.
- CHF 1000 will finance a high-quality microscope for the precise diagnosis of infections.

Help us to take the first step towards a healthier future for Chopelwo. Every contribution counts and helps to save lives.
