Planting the Future is a social project focused on increasing the living and educational standards of students and children in Paraguay. This project was started in 2012 by students of the SIM program (the Master in Strategy and International Management) at the University of St. Gallen as part of the SIMagination Challenge, and has been carried on by generations of SIM students since.
This year we will again visit the foster home in Pedro Juan Caballero and bring educational supplies and energy. Furthermore, we will visit a school 45min from Asunción and help them to get self sustained. To achieve this we cooperate with them in establishing a jam production and selling the jam in the region. This additional income stream helps the students to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and at the same time solves a problem of local farmers, who are not able to sell most of their produced fruits on the local market. Furthermore we consult the school on the optimisation of existing products to increase the profitability and reach. This extra profit and knowledge will not only increase the funds of the school but will thereby also increase the living standards of the whole community.

Remember the Ice bucket challenge? Well it was cold, but because it is already pretty cold here in St. Gallen anyway we decided to do something different. For every milestone we reach one of our team members will be covered with a bucket of sticky, liquid jelly. As incentive to support us we will jellify ourselves in the following order:

1. Mitch 300.-
2. Désirée 600.
3. Moritz 800.-
4. Nicolai 1000.-
5. Cosima 1200.-
6. Fabrizio 1400.-
7. Ying Ying 1500.-
8. Olga 1600.-

For every milestone you will receive a video proving our commitment!
Help the children and students in Paraguay, donate now and jellify us ;)

We are the Planting the Future Team 2015 and we are highly motivated to make a social impact for children and young adults in Paraguay. We are all students at the University of St. Gallen in the Master programme of Strategy and International Management and we see this project as a possibility to give something back for everything we are lucky enough to have. We are dedicated to leverage our skills and energy to establish a sustainable and social venture with the planned jam-Production.
