RicArdO RicOrdA
an animated short film

Project Overview
"Ricardo Ricorda" is an animated short film about a composer who journeys through his memories to find the perfect melody. The film explores the significance of memories – both good and bad – and how they shape our lives. With your support, we can bring this emotional story to the screen!
But an overwhelming creative block traps him in an endless loop. As he grows older, he feels the need to finish with a grand musical finale. To find inspiration, Ricardo embarks on an introspective journey through his life. The room around him is brought to life by memories through objects.
From his piano to blurred images from his childhood, Ricardo experiences the emotions hidden in his studio. Frustrated and desperate, he ventures into the attic, where forgotten treasures and family memories await. Here, he recalls the foundations of his youth, through joy and sorrow.
As he explores the studio and attic, Ricardo’s musical journey transforms into a melody of his life story. Each step reveals another chapter, each note becomes a living memory.
In the end, Ricardo sits back at his piano, the sheet music before him. The final melody is the essence of his life’s memories. ‘Ricardo Ricorda’ tells not only of creative inspiration but also of the universal connection through ancient memories that reside within each of us.
Ricardo struggles to compose his final piano piece as his memories—both good and bad—flood his mind. Through this film, I want to show that our memories, whether painful or joyful, shape who we are. By accepting the bad and embracing the good, we can find harmony in our lives. I hope viewers will see in Ricardo’s journey not just a story, but a reflection of their own experiences.

My name is Marco Grosso, and I am currently in my third year of the Professional Bachelor in Communication Design with a focus on directing at the F+F School for Art and Media Design.
For my second school project, I am venturing into the world of animation. As I explore different film genres to discover the path I want to pursue after graduation, animation has proven to be a medium that offers boundless creative freedom.
As a filmmaker, I strive to tell stories that not only entertain but also provoke thought and create an emotional connection.
