SUSTAIN KLEIHD
Zurich's Rental Fashion Boutique
Project Overview
The non-profit rental fashion boutique Kleihd is discontinued. We from SHAREaLOOK - a young rental fashion startup - want to keep the boutique alive and develop it into a shared wardrobe for all women in Zurich. Support us with our project!
Funding goals
-
Stage 1:
12.000 CHF
100% funded
With the sum of money we can pay the deposit, the first 3 rents, as well as the costs for taking over the assortment from our predecessors.
-
Stage 2:
18.000 CHF
0% funded
With this sum of money we have a little more air to breathe and can pay the deposit, the first 6 months' rent, as well as the costs for taking over the range and inventories from our predecessors.
-
Finish Stage:
24.000 CHF
0% funded
With this sum of money, we would be worry-free to start. In addition to covering the big start-up costs such as deposit, rent, assortment and storage costs, we could also pay for necessary equipment such as a payment terminal, shelves, and lights for the shop window. Everything second hand, of course;)
KLEIHD was the first rental clothing store in Zurich, maintained voluntarily by passionate individuals who embraced the rental mentality and its benefits: an unlimited shared local wardrobe. Believing both in the environmental impact of this technique, and the give-a-solution to an abiding problem - the oversupplied, yet “empty” closet - they adequately run the store and rent hundreds of dresses to their happy customers until today. Unfortunately, due to the growing administrative workload, the non-profit organization is no longer able to run the boutique by themselves. Additionally, a yearlong non-profit initiative like this is in need of a more focused approach, a fresh touch to get back to life, and play a significant role in the city’s life. This is where SHAREaLOOK’s team comes in.
founded the rental fashion platform SHAREaLOOK in 2019 as part of the Circular Economy Incubator of the Swiss Impact Hubs. KLEIHD was a personal partner right from the start and they want to sustain the boutique.
With KLEIHD by SHAREaLOOK, they actively want to contribute to the change towards more responsible and fair fashion industry.
We believe in the power of consumers and communities in order to establish a new understanding of clothing. The throw-away culture of the fast fashion industry is harmful to the environment and disrespectful to the textile workers who make our clothes."
We believe fashion can be a tool to connect people and increase the overall welfare across the planet. But to do this, we will need to change the way we value, produce, and consume fashion.
We have to revolutionize the fashion industry. I have been working in the international fashion industry for the past 10 years and realized that the current system is unsustainable. The circular economy offers a solution to produce and use fashion sustainably and fairly in the long term. Enabling women to share their outfits is the first important step in creating such a responsible industry.
I came to Switzerland in 2015 to work for a fashion company in the area of brand finance. I had previously worked in large companies in Sao Paulo. But actually, I always wanted to work on social projects. When I started my MBA in Sustainability at BSL in 2018, I was motivated to finally start my own project. When Pia asked me whether we should start a sustainable company that financially supports social projects with its profit, I immediately agreed.
I am a passionate journalist and content creator. Convinced of SHAREaLOOK's mission, I am motivated to help Natalia and Pia to also lead the Kleihd Boutique to success. I am looking forward to all the encounters and the exciting stories that we will experience there.
