Project Overview

Foreign nationals may be detained in Switzerland for up to 18 months. We represent our often destitute clients before the courts and ensure that they are not unlawfully detained. Most of our clients never get to see a lawyer, even though some of them have been in custody for months. Without legal representation it is not realistic to win or even to make a complaint.

The costs for the entire administration and organisation of the project (infrastructure, scanning and filing of files, IT setup, insurance, etc.) cost us around CHF 800 per month. Participation in internal training
Our internal training courses take place 4 times a year. We thus ensure that all our legal advisors are sufficiently trained and that our clients are represented at a high level of quality. With a contribution of 200 Swiss francs you can finance about 20% of the costs (infrastructure, lectures, catering etc.) of such an event. You may take part in one of these training courses of your choice yourself!

Personal dinner with a member of the Detention Project
For our work, we urgently need office space. Court records must be stored appropriately, and we also need the infrastructure for our daily voluntary work. These are costs of several hundred francs, with your donation you help us to cover them. Carried forward on the legal basis of deportation liability
The average cost of representation up to the Federal Supreme Court is about 250 francs per case (costs for visits, court proceedings, printing and postage costs, etc.). With 500 Swiss francs, you enable us to represent 2 persons up to the Federal Supreme Court! As a thank you, we come to you or your company and explain our work and introduce you to the legal basics.
