Undead Apocalypse
Undead Apocalypse is a web-series produced for YouTube and similar platforms by a group of hobby-filmmakers and recently entered production of a second season on a much larger and higher-quality scale. Quickly the costs for infrastructure rise rapidly and we therefore hope for your back up.

The series is centered around survivors of a global but largely unknown virus-infection. However: We don't focus on a bloody show reel of a bare fight for survival, but the journey of different people throughout the post-apocalyptic world; right before complete despair, at the edge of insanity and lost in hopelessness the viewer finds a lot more depth in characters and story compared to the first season, which was produced solely as a test project. We want to maintain the promising level of the current pre-production throughout the whole second season and are therefore dependent on your support.

Everything starts already at the location for the casting. we have been flooded with applications and need to rent a room for a weekend and organize supplies.
400.- SFr.

We have costume designers as well as make-up artists and people for special-fx make-up. These people generously agreed to keep their salary to an absolute minimum and/or work for free, but we still have high costs for the material they need: for the whole two weeks of shooting, the costs sum up to about
2000.- SFr.

For purposes of authenticity we shoot abroad, with no nearby town or village and therefore need food/catering, power generators, a big tent for the cast and crew as well as some heat generators and vehicles for transportation of equipment and people.
roughly 4500.-

We have upgraded our filming standard through learning and buying equipment needed from our own money to a very high level in a very short time, but we still have some patching to do to guarantee the viewer a truly cinematographic experience. What we need for that is some additional camera attachments (much of that we rent, to keep costs down), better microphones and audio software to get the sound to a level where it can be presented on the big screen. To our current knowledge, this sums up to about
2000.- SFr.

The last 10% of the money is needed for smaller things throughout production and we'd like to have some money left in case unforeseen things happen.

All costs, which exceed our budget are paid from our own pockets, but if some money is left after production and post-production have finished, we invest it in improving the goodies for our supporters (better posters, rent a movie theater etc.)

In the first season of Undead Apocalypse we, Homestonearts, tried to make a big project for us at the time a reality, without having high external costs, but to succeed in finishing the complete season.

After we achieved our goals for this first season, we quickly realized the potential we missed out on. But to fully use this potential we had to make a lot of progress in many sectors of our production cycle.

The production of the first season finished over 2 years ago and we did exactly that in this time. We're now ready to tackle this new, big second season with your support!

Homestonearts at its core consists of three people: My name is Roger Baltensperger, I graduated from middle school and I am preparing for University at the moment to study music. Lars Epting was an apprentice at a professional photography store and worked for other companies in this business. Several jobs and further education lead him from his hobby to a planned course of studies. Kevin Thiel finishes acting school in Zürich this year and will continue his studies in summer at the Hamburg Stage School.

All of us are film lovers and now we want to bring that passion to life ourselves, tell our own story and give the world something back from all the great things we were allowed to receive for artists over the years!
