The experimental film WE LIVE IN THE 21st CENTURY tells the fragmented story of four people from the capital, who dream of love and a fairer future, caught between depression and powerlessness in the face of world events, the search for identity and meaning in life, the longing for escapism through intoxication and dealing with the pressure to perform in a capitalist society.

WE LIVE is not just a project, but a long time dream of mine that has taken a lot of love, passion, process and effort to realize. WE LIVE would not have been possible without a group of wonderful inspiring people with a passion for filmmaking.
Unfortunately, the film industry is still very much dominated by mostly men who have worked in the industry for a very long time.

We realize the experimental film with the great support of many talented young people who invest their time, love and energy. Nevertheless, there are of course costs involved in the production of a film, especially for equipment, locations, transportation and catering on set. Furthermore, the release requires additional investment, including festival fees and marketing measures to ensure that the film gets the attention it deserves.

The aim of WE LIVE is to shed light on the complex and often contradictory experiences of people in our society, which is currently undergoing a major transformation. WE LIVE is intended to show the beauty of the process, the simultaneity of many things, especially in such hectic times as these, and the importance of a shared vision of peace and justice.
The film is intended to contribute to a deeper, more human confrontation with the challenges and hopes of our time.

Im Helena, 24 years old and a filmmaker based in Berlin. Im studying fictional directing at filmarche e.V. and currently realizing my secound experimental film "WE LIVE IN THE 21st CENTURY".
In my work I express my observations of life & the people around me, small and big encounters, their worries, dreams and enthusiasms. Above all, it is about the beauty of the process of growth, being on the path with ourselves and the power of a shared vision of unity and peace.
