The next steps are in sight 🤩

Dear family, patrons and film friends

The last months have been nerve-wracking and frustrating.

Our protagonist Bavé Tayaro has traveled several times from Syria to Kurdistan, each time hoping to travel to Europe so we could continue filming in Greece. Unfortunately, he was never allowed to leave.

We now had to admit to ourselves after almost a year of bureaucracy that there is nothing we can do about the strict visa requirements.
These circumstances are really clouding our minds and we are forced to go other ways.

💡 But we already have an idea!

To make the film happen anyway, we are currently planning a second trip to Kurdistan. We can only shoot there because of the visa difficulties. With technical means we will then simulate the road trip - Luckily we live in an age of animation possibilities (and GreenScreens).

We don't know yet in detail how the realization will look like but the next shooting is already scheduled for October/November.

We are really looking forward to the next shoot and will keep you posted 💪.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! MERCI! ZOR SPAS!

💖 Love greetings

We do not give up 💪

Dear Family, Patrons and Film Friends

We are facing a complex challenge and continue to fight hard for a visa for our main actor. With a Syrian passport it is very difficult to get a work permit in Europe. We want to do everything right and therefore depend on valid papers.

We have already tried several ways and means, which have all been unsuccessful so far. At the moment we are in contact with the consulate in Greece and hope there to get the necessary work visa for our dear Bave Tayaro. Letters of recommendation, visa applications and invitations to Europe are being reviewed in various places but the bureaucracy is a frustrating authority and has kept us on our toes for months now ❗

💪 But we are not giving up and the glimmer of hope on the horizon is small - but it is there!

Ghamkin is in regular contact with our protagonist and the various agencies. It remains to hope that we can make it this summer and then shoot the European scenes soon. Unfortunately we can't promise that. Therefore, we still ask for your patience and above all for your understanding.

📞 If anyone of you has experience with this form of residence permit, we are grateful for any tips, contacts or advice.

As soon as we know more, we will get back to you.

THANK YOU! DANKE! MERCI! ZOR SPAS!

Good news and bad news

Dear friends, family, acquaintances and boosters.

💭 I'm sure many of you are wondering what's next for our film.

We have some good news and some bad news.

🙂 First the good news!

In September we were in Dohuk, Kurdistan and were able to shoot some scenes there!
It was exhausting, sweaty, tiring, breathtaking, wonderful and above all - a great and motivating sense of achievement! Felix, our cameraman, was able to capture the landscapes and locations authentically. A quick look at the raw material already shows how beautiful this film will be one day.
The photos from Kurdistan have now been delivered to us, which means that you will soon be able to see more Behind The Scenes on Facebook.

🙃 And now for the bad news.

Our protagonist Bave Tayaro has been waiting for his visa to shoot in Europe for several months. He is currently back in Syria and is not allowed to leave without a visa. We wanted to continue filming in Europe - in Greece - in October, but without a visa for Bave Tayaro we cannot continue filming. Because without a leading actor there is no film.... The director Ghamkin Saleh is in close contact with the responsible authorities and is working under high pressure to find a solution to the problem. Unfortunately, however, bureaucracy keeps throwing a spanner in the works. Unfortunately, this is why the shoot has been delayed indefinitely.

Nevertheless, we remain in good spirits. On the last set we gained an incredible amount of motivation and are already looking forward to the next stage.

🗣️ As soon as we know more, we will get back to you.

WE DID IT!

✨ We really did it!

When we started our Crowdify, we wished that we would at least reach the first stage, but we were not sure if we would really make it. The target amount of CHF 110,000 was set so high that even the Crowdify support team recommended that we lower the amount of the first stage when we submitted the project. And yes, it was really very close, but thanks to YOU we reached the goal!

First of all, we would like to highlight a few people in particular:

Jörg Häfliger, who supported the project with a very generous amount even before the crowdfunding, is also our highest benefactor now. Thank you Jörg. Without you, the ball wouldn't even have started rolling! We couldn't have done it without you!

Bahjat Saleh is not only a VIP because of his booster status as a film funder. As the director's brother, he naturally supports the project with emotional commitment as well. Many thanks Bahjat!

Phillip Matter and Mahzad Alsaleh, a heartfelt thank you to you too, for this generous amount.

And now to YOU - THANK YOU 🙏
Thank you for your support! Thank you for your valuable boost. Thank you for spreading the word about this project. Thank you for believing in us and thank you for being part of this wonderful film 🥰. Your contribution makes it possible!

What next 💭 ?
We are currently revising the script and planning the trip to Kurdistan to continue the shoot there. The first days of shooting are fixed. We start on 1 September! The protagonist Bavé Tayaro will soon be vaccinated for the second time so that we can then continue filming in Europe.

ℹ️ STAY TUNED

CUT, ACTION!

🎬 Behind the scenes

The feature film "On the Trail of Tayaro" is to be an approximately 90-minute road movie. To be able to shoot with absolutely minimalistic means, we need at least CHF 110,000. This amount is the goal of the first Crowdify stage and we have already reached XY %!
If we reach this goal, the most important costs will be covered. With this money the shooting of 5 weeks as well as the travel and transport costs abroad are secured. Visas and food, as well as overnight low-budget accommodation for the film crew can be paid for and indispensable professionals hired 📽️.
Ghamkin has already shot a first part of the film in Syria. The trailer was also made from this. A small and very impressive excerpt from the set behind the scenes can be seen in the video vimeo.com 🎞️!
