I'm getting back to you after a long time with some good news: 'Unfamiliar Familiar' will celebrate its Swiss festival premiere at the "Schweizer Jugendfilmtage" in Zurich. The film will be shown on Friday, March 24th at 20.00 in the Abaton cinema and competes in the "Category E". If you haven't seen the film yet, don't miss this opportunity.

Dear supporters of "Unfamiliar Familiar".

With a small apology for the delay, I am getting back to you to share great news.

"Unfamiliar Familiar" will have its world premiere in Busan on 29/4/2022 at the Oscar-qualifying 39th Busan International Short Film Festival. I am currently on location and will join the cast and crew for a Q&A in front of the audience at the second screening on 1/5/2022.

On 17/6/2022, our short film will then celebrate its European premiere at the 50th Huesca International Short Film Festival in Spain, which also a renowed, Oscar-qualifying film festival with great tradition.

Furthermore, we have finally pushed ahead with the planning of a internal Swiss premiere for supporters and are also making good progress with the production of the goodies.

However, we do have one small change to report: Due to logistical and financial reasons, we have to replace the T-shirts with something else. The main reason for this was the, from our point of view, insufficient textile quality for the intended budget. We are currently looking for a reasonable alternative (one possibility would be a thermos bottle with the film logo). We kindly ask for your understanding.

Once again, I would like to deeply thank everyone for the incredible journey I have had the privilege to take with this film so far.

J'espère que vous allez bien et je reviens vers vous avec une petite mise à jour du projet.
En raison de la pandémie, nous n'avons pas encore pu fêter la première à Séoul, ce qui explique que nos projets aient été un peu repoussés. Après un an de séjour en Corée, je rentre en Suisse. En mars 2022, je prévois de revenir en Corée pour m'occuper de la finalisation des goodies. Nous espérons que la situation s'améliorera et que nous pourrons encore fêter notre première suisse et coréenne au cours du premier semestre. D'ici là, je vous demande de faire preuve de beaucoup de patience et je m'excuse pour le retard.

Au nom de toute l'équipe, je vous souhaite de joyeuses fêtes de fin d'année et une bonne année que j'espère plus positive.

Dear supporters of Unfamiliar Familar,

I hope you are well and would like to give you a small update on the project.
Due to the pandemic, we have not yet been able to celebrate a premiere in Seoul, which is why our plans have been postponed a bit. After a year in Korea, I'm returning to Switzerland. In March 2022, I plan to come to Korea again and take care of finishing the goodies. Hopefully things will improve and we will be able to celebrate our Switzerland and Korea premiere in the first half of the year. Until then, I ask for your patience and apologise for the delay.

This is the official trailer of "Unfamiliar Familiar"! We have almost finished the film. For the premiere and goodies, we ask for a little more patience. Due to the covid situation in South Korea, the careful production of the goodies and the personal decision of director Hae-Sup Sin to stay in Seoul at least until the end of the year, we will probably have the Swiss premiere in early 2022. After four wonderful, exciting days, we have now completed the film shoot of "Unfamiliar, Familiar". This was only possible thanks to the planning security provided by a successful crowdfunding. We thank Crowdify and everyone who supported us on this journey. We are now planning an intensive month in the editing room, after which we will move on to mixing, colour grading and film score composition. Keep your fingers crossed for a good success. We will keep you informed.

Dear Booster. We are pleased to announce that the well-known Korean actress Il-Hwa Lee (Lie After Lie, Reply1988, A Living Being) will take on the role of the main character "Sang-Hwa". Furthermore, Jin-Bok Kim (Vincenzo, Luwak Man) as "Sang-Uk" and Su-Ji Jeon (Signal, Seoul) as his wife "Sun-Young" are also starring in my short film. 안녕하세요, 신해섭 입니다. 캐스팅 소식을 드디어 공개하고자 합니다. 저희 <잊혀진 익숙함>의 “상화"역을 이일화 배우님이 맡아 주시게 됐습니다. 스위스에서 온 신인 감독의 저예산 단편 영화에 출연해 주셔서 너무나도 큰 영광입니다. 또 영화, 연극, 드라마에서 활동 하시는 김진복 배우님과 전수지 배우님이랑도 같이 작업 하게 되어서 기쁩니다.
